Dostoyevsky – loving one another “in concreto,”

Dostoevsky’s point, and why he believed that if the world was going to be a better place, it is only by loving one another “in concreto,” – individually, or at least in community.
Thus, while the human race en masse busily runs around attempting to exterminate what they understand as “social ills,” “political and economic indifference,” etc., the rate of suicide and suicide attempts by- please note- individuals, increases among the most affluent and politically free people in the history of mankind.
